{ Color Factory } The power of pink

Ya está aquí de nuevo la sección Color Factory. Esta semana me ha costado encontrar inspiración, porque el rosa es un color que no se suele utilizar mucho en casa, así que espero que os guste.

Por cierto, también os dejo el enlace al post de hace dos semanas, en el que me atrevo con el amarillo, un color realmente fascinante.

Hoy comienzo una colaboración en el blog de Deborah: Dumbo.

Supongo que algunos lo conoceréis y otros no. En cualquier caso os recomiendo que os paséis por allí para leer mi nueva sección llamada “Color Factory” y para disfrutar de los post sin pelos en la lengua de Deborah. :)

{ Dream house } The more confortable room

Por fin llegamos a la habitación más importante de la casa: el dormitorio. Aquí pasaremos gran parte del día durmiendo, leyendo, charlando, jugando,… es por eso que debemos elegir con sumo cuidado la cama donde dormiremos, el tipo de sábanas que nos gustan más, la decoración que hará que despertarnos sea un placer,…

Finally we need to choose the most important room in the house: the bedroom. We spend much of the day sleeping, reading, chatting, playing,… that is why you must choose carefully the bed where you are going to sleep, the type of sheets that you like the most, the decor that will be a pleasure to wake up with,…

Si te gusta el blanco y necesitas un entorno neutro para descansar, ésta es tu habitación ideal.
En cambio, si necesitas un ambiente acogedor, lleno de elementos que te inspiren antes de dormir, no dudes un segundo en elegir ésta habitación.
Por otro lado, tenemos éste dormitorio, que si bien utiliza colores neutros y muebles básicos, es realmente una habitación en la que podría dormir el resto de mi vida sin aburrirme.
Y por último, quien no ha soñado con una habitación en la buhardilla, con una cama grande cubierta con una preciosa colcha de ganchillo que hizo tu abuela hace muchos años.

{ Dream house } Our charming bathroom

Hoy voy a hablaros del baño. Es ese rinconcito, que al igual que nos pasa con la cocina, poco podemos hacer con él, porque además muchas veces tenemos que convivir con baldosas horribles que hace la decoración de ese espacio una odisea.

Pero no desesperéis, porque en la casa de nuestros sueños el baño puede ser como estos:

Today I will talk about the bathroom. It’s that corner, like the kitchen, that little can be done with it, because we often have to live with ugly tiles which makes decorate this space very difficult.

But do not despair, because in our dream house, the bathroom can be like these:

Este baño clásico ha sido decorado con pequeños cuadros, para hacer de él un lugar de inspiración.
Este baño me recuerda al estilo escandinavo, que se caracteriza por el uso del blanco y elementos decorativos naturales en madera.
Para darle un toque diferente a un baño neutro, han pintado la parte superior de negro, sin duda un acierto.
Techos altos, bañera antigua, mucha luz,… este baño tiene mucho encanto y una gama de colores suaves y muy relajantes.

How to create a cozy nook in the kitchen

Ayer me quedé con ganas de enseñaros estas dos fotos. Se que la calidad no es la mejor, pero tienen algo que me llamó la atención poderosamente. Nunca se me había ocurrido colocar una pequeña lamparita en la cocina para conseguir un rincón más cálido.

Además, estas dos cocinas se parecen más a las que tenemos en nuestras casas, que no son lo más bonito del mundo, pero con un poquito de ingenio, podemos hacer de ese espacio el lugar perfecto para esos cafés de la mañana.

- ¡Uaaaaahh! – Bostezó mientras se aferraba a su taza de café caliente esa fresquita mañana de mayo.

Yesterday I was looking forward to show you these two photos. The quality is not the best, but they have something that caught my attention powerfully. Never crossed my mind to place a small lamp in the kitchen to get a warm corner.

Moreover, these two kitchens are more like those we have in our homes, which are not the most beautiful in the world, but with a little creativity, we can make this space the perfect place for these morning coffees.

- Uaaaaahh! – she yawned while she grab her cup of coffee that cool may morning.

Ya se que voy una semana tarde, pero mejor tarde que nunca ¿verdad?

Si me gustase cocinar, seguro que ésta sería mi estancia favorita. La cocina es la habitación que más difícil resulta decorar y la que menos posibilidades de cambio nos ofrece una vez instalada. Pero como soñar es gratis, vamos a imaginar nuestra cocina ideal.

I know that I’m a week late, but better late than never, right?

If I liked to cook, sure that this would be my favorite room. The kitchen is the most difficult room to decorate and it is less likely to change once installed. But since dreaming is free, let’s imagine our dream kitchen.

Esta cocina de color berenjena, es muy femenina, perfecta para alguien que le guste tener cada cosa en su sitio. No os perdáis la colección de tacitas de té.
Cuando la ví me pareció tan limpia, funcional, con el toque justo de diseño,… Esta cocina es el lugar perfecto para hacer una rica cena.
Muchísima luz natural y espacio para que 2-3 personas disfruten de la preparación de una fiesta. Es desenfada y sin pretensiones.
Una cocina blanca y natural, donde las cosas varian de lugar sin parecer desordenada. ¿Qué tal si horneamos unas magdalenas? ;)

This eggplant color kitchen is very feminine, perfect for someone who likes to have everything in place. By the way, do not miss the collection of cups of tea.
When I saw it seemed so clean, functional, with just the right touch of design,… This kitchen is the perfect place for a delicious dinner.
Lots of natural light and plenty of room for two or three people to enjoy cooking for a party. This kitchen is carefree and unpretentious.
This white kitchen is very natural, things can change its place without necessarily look cluttered. Would you like to bake some muffins? ;)

{ Dream house } Enjoy the living room

Esta semana quiero que elijamos el salón de la “casa de nuestros sueños”. ¿Listos?

Ha sido realmente difícil elegir sólo 4 salones, de entre todos los que he visto, pero creo que por fin he dado con la selección perfecta:

It was really hard to choose just 4 living rooms, from all I’ve seen, but I’ve finally found the perfect selection:

Este salón reutiliza tapetes, muebles antiguos, cuadros y guirnaldas, todo ello de forma casual y desenfadada.
De estilo algo retro y clásico, todo en esta habitación tiene su lugar (por cierto, estoy enamorada de ese sofa, es lo más bonito que he visto nunca).
Teniendo como pieza principal esa silla amarilla de Charles Eames, el resto de elementos fluyen de forma orgánica a su alrededor.
Con esos increíbles ventanales y unos tonos pálidos, esta habitación es el lugar perfecto para una tarde de lectura. Quien pudiera disfrutar de tantas plantas en casa. :)

This room reused mats, antique furniture, paintings and garlands, all in a casual and carefree way.
Retro and classic style, all in this room has its place (by the way, I’m in love with this couch, it is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen).
The Charles Eames yellow chair is the main piece of this room and the remaining elements flow organically around it.
This room is the perfect place for an afternoon reading, with these amazing windows and pale tones. Who could enjoy many plants at home. :)

Martha Stewart re-imagines the iPad

Si si, ya se que es muy caro (desde 479€) y ¿realmente le voy a sacar partido? Pero es que cuando veáis lo que tengo que enseñaros, también vais a quererlo.

El equipo de Martha Stewart, la guru del “handmade” en USA, ha creado un número especial para la revista Living, en la que rompe con la interacción tradicional y nos lleva más allá.

Mejor lo veis por vosotros mismos, porque por más que trate de explicarlo, una imagen vale más que mil palabras, ¿verdad? :)

{ Dream house } The perfect entryway

Hoy quiero proponeros un juego, me gustaría que entre todos construyamos la “casa de nuestros sueños”. Iré posteando diferentes espacios de una casa y para cada espacio, habrá una pequeña encuesta dónde podréis elegir la opción que más os guste. Fácil, ¿no?

Al final de esta seríe de post, haré un resumen con las conclusiones que he sacado, en base a vuestras respuestas. ¿Os apetece?

Today I want to propose a game, I would like to build together “our dream house”. I will be posting different areas of a home and there will be a short survey for you to choose the option that suits you. Easy, right?

At the end of this series of posts, I will summarize the conclusions based on your answers. Would you like it?

Empezaremos con la ENTRADA. He elegido estas 3 opciones:

Entrada amarilla: limpia, brillante e impactante. Hasta hace poco no me gustaba este color, pero ahora es uno de mis favoritos, sólo hay que ver como lo utiliza la gente para decorar. ¡Wow!
Entrada con papel de pared: esta tendencia ha vuelto con mucha fuerza, que si se utiliza bien, los resultados son espectaculares. Y si además, colocáis un mueble restaurado, la estancia ganará en personalidad.
Entrada blanca: de inspiración escandinava, es limpia, ordenada, transmite serenidad, y aunque tanto blanco pueda dar miedo, ese precioso suelo de madera le da el contraste perfecto para hacerla acogedora.

We start with the ENTRYWAY. I choose these 3 options:

Yellow entryway: clean, bright and very impressive. Until recently I didn’t really like this color, but now is one of my favorites, you just have to see how people use it to decorate. Wow!
Wallpapering entryway: on a couple of years it has become a very strong trend, which if used sparingly, the results are spectacular. Another hot trend is restoration of old furniture, the room will win on personality, I assured you.
White entryway: Scandinavian inspired, it is clean, tidy, transmits serenity, and even though so much white can be scary, this beautiful wooden floor gives the perfect contrast to this cozy room.
