Ya que parece que vamos a tener un fin de semana gris y lluvioso, quiero traeros este viernes algo de color y calidez.

Minikin es una marca de ropa y complementos para niños desde los 18 meses hasta los 8 años. Su colección de primavera-verano es suave, tierna, natural y original. Hará las delicias de cualquier madre, seguro que ella lo disfrutará más que los peques :P.

Personalmente lo que más me gusta es que un niño vestido así parece un niño, no esa manía que tiene mucha gente de vestir a los peques como “mini-adultos”.

El de hoy es un post muy especial. Quiero mostraros el trabajo de Anna Bond, una ilustradora a la que admiro enormemente y que bajo la marca Rifle Paper Co. crea todo tipo de material en papel, desde postales hasta láminas con sus ilustraciones de acuarela.

Su trabajo me transporta a otro tiempo, supongo que es por los colores que utiliza y por la tipografía hecha a mano, que me recuerda cuando aún escribíamos cartas a mano a nuestro amigos, durante los largos veranos.

Today’s post is a very special one. I want to show you the work of Anna Bond, an illustrator that I admire a lot. She creates all kinds of paper goods, from postcards to prints with watercolor illustrations at Rifle Paper Co..

Her work takes me to another time, I guess that is for the colors and handmade typography she uses, which they remembered me when we still wrote letters by hand to our friends, during the long summers.

En EEUU es muy habitual coleccionar diferentes tipos de tarjetas, para luego enviárselas a los amigos en ocasiones especiales. Es una pena que aquí aún sigamos comprando las típicas tarjetas, que aunque tengan mensajes divertidos, en lo que respecta a diseño y calidad, dejan mucho que desear.

¿No sería bonito abrir el buzón y descubrir que alguien se acuerda de nosotros y nos obsequia con una tarjeta que grita por todos sus poros: ERES ESPECIAL?

Ohhh y no os olvidéis de echar un ojo a su tienda en Florida, debe ser un placer para los sentidos pasearse por ella.

It is very common in the U.S. to collect different types of cards and then send them to friends on special occasions. It is unfortunate that here we still buy the typical cards, that even they have funny messages, they leave a lot to be desired, in terms of design and quality.

Would not it be nice to open the mailbox and find that someone remember us and gives us a card that screams: YOU ARE SPECIAL?

Jenny Blaine, natural de Portland (Oregon), es la diseñadora detrás de estas piezas tan originales. Bajo la marca Seahag & Walrus, crea pequeñas parcelas de césped, plumas, flechas,… complementos inspirados en la naturaleza que nos rodea, que seguro dan que hablar.

Si si, ya se que es muy caro (desde 479€) y ¿realmente le voy a sacar partido? Pero es que cuando veáis lo que tengo que enseñaros, también vais a quererlo.

El equipo de Martha Stewart, la guru del “handmade” en USA, ha creado un número especial para la revista Living, en la que rompe con la interacción tradicional y nos lleva más allá.

Mejor lo veis por vosotros mismos, porque por más que trate de explicarlo, una imagen vale más que mil palabras, ¿verdad? :)

Siempre me entristece el cambio de hora de invierno, con él comienzan los días cortos y oscuros. Pero a partir de ahora, vamos a poder disfrutar de días soleados y luminosos, ya que el fin de semana pasado comenzó el horario de verano, ¡Jipyyyy! :)

Es ahora cuando empezaremos a quitarnos capas y capas de ropa y utilizaremos esos colgantes, pendientes y pulseras que tanto lucen en verano. Por eso, hoy quiero mostraros los trabajos de Elephantine, creados por Rachel Chew Blakley, son piezas de joyería delicadas y sencillas, en oro y plata.

The winter time change always makes me sad, it is the begining of short and dark days. But from now on, we will enjoy sunny and bright days, because the past weekend began the summer time, jipyyyy! :)

We’ll begin to remove layers of clothing and use pendants, earrings and bracelets that look so much better in summer. So today I want to show you the work of the brand Elephantine, created by Rachel Chew Blakley, they are delicate and simple jewelry pieces of gold and silver.

Primero lo encontré a él: Pompon. La criatura más linda que haya visto nunca. Me enamoré nada más verlo e hizo que quisiera saber más sobre él. Es así como descubrí Neëst.

En palabras de su creadora Sandrine Pigeon:

First I found it: Pompon. The most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen. I fell in love on sight and made me want to know more about it. This is how I discovered Neëst.

De la mano de Anthropologie (tienda que se merece un post aparte, así que otro día os hablaré de ella) nos llega BHLDN, que se pronuncia “Beholden” y significa “conservar” en holandés.

Si ya admiraba a Anthropologie por sus ropas, complementos, elementos de decoración para el hogar,… todos ellos diferentes a lo que encuentras en las tiendas, con un toque vintage y ecléctico. Ahora han creado esta línea independiente para la novia: ropa, zapatos, joyas, adornos para el pelo,… de precios asequibles y llenos de detalles, creo que son una más que aceptable opción para ese día tan especial.

Thanks to Anthropologie (a store that deserves a separate post, so another day I speak of it) comes BHLDN, pronounced “Beholden”, meaning “to keep” in Dutch.

If I already admired Anthropologie for they clothes, accessories, decorative items for home,… all different from what you can find in stores, with a touch of vintage and eclectic style. Now they’ve created this separate line for the bride: clothing, shoes, jewelry, hair ornaments,… with affordable prices and full of details, I think they are a beautiful choice for that special day.

He tenido una semana con mucho trabajo, así que estoy deseando que llegue el fin de semana para descansar y disfrutar de los amigos.

Hoy tengo un post muy especial, se trata de una artista Argentina, que por razones de amor se trasladó a Londres a vivir, su nombre es Flor y es la creadora de Sweet Bestiary.

Llevo un rato navegando por su tienda y todo lo que veo me gusta: broches, figuritas, adornos para pared,… son increíbles y tremendamente dulces. Sin lugar a dudas son una de esas cosas que tienes que tener sí o sí.

Además, gracias a Brittni de Papernstich, podemos leer una pequeña entrevista en donde habla sobre su técnica. ¡No os lo perdáis!

Soy una gran defensora de los trabajos hechos a mano y el adquirir este tipo de productos, además de ayudar a los artistas a vivir de su trabajo, hace que cada vez que lo mires te haga sentir especial y único, porque poca gente tiene el placer de disfrutar de estas piezas. Así que, os animo a comprar esos items que os llaman a gritos. :)

Today I have a very special post about an argentine artist, her name is Flor, she moved to London because she fell in love and she is the creator of Sweet Bestiary.

I’ve been visiting her store for a while and I love everything that I found there: pins, small figures, wall decorations,… they are amazing and extremely sweet. Undoubtedly those are things you must have.
